Recreational Gymnastics Coach

At Kids Sports on the Beaches, we offer a wide variety of gymnastics-based programs during the school term (ages 12 months to 17 years old), and a multi versatile vacation care program during the school holidays. On the weekends, we also offer Birthday Parties, so if you are interested in working in all of these departments, that is a huge bonus!

Our programs run from Monday to Sunday, with shifts ranging throughout the day, so please let us know your availability. If you are flexible, and can work a rotating roster, this position is perfect for you. However, we will try to keep your shifts consistent for each term so that you can enjoy the work-life balance that you deserve.

WAG Competitive Gymnastics Coach
​
Located in North Narrabeen on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Northern Beaches Gymnastics Academy (NBGA) has positions open for coaches looking for a role within the competitive Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) coaching program.
All applicants must hold an internationally recognised accreditation in WAG and be eligible to live and work in Australia.
Northern Beaches Gymnastics Academy's philosophy is centred around developing Culture, Character and Commitment. Our primary goal is to ensure that we provide a positive club culture for each of our athletes where, through their own commitment to the sport of gymnastics, and achieving their personal goals, they can develop character traits that will benefit them for the rest of their lives.
About the Coaching Role:
This is a casual coaching position (between 9 – 20 hours/week) as part of the NBGA WAG competitive program team. The role is primarily focused on coaching WAG Level 1 – 6 which would include opportunities to work as part of one or more of our WAG competitive program teams.
The role would include coaching in the afternoons (after the children finish school), some mornings (before the children go to school) and on Saturdays. Coaches will be required to attend gymnastics competitions or training clinics on certain weekends across a pre-determined yearly schedule (approximately 10 events per year per group).
About the Candidate:
This position is suitable for someone who has knowledge and experience within Women’s Artistic Gymnastics and is looking to take on the responsibility of a squad group/groups. This could be someone who is either interested in transitioning into the world of WAG competitive coaching who has recreational gymnastics coaching experience, a retired competitive gymnast who is looking to start a career within competitive gymnastics coaching or someone who has previous experience and knowledge in coaching WAG Level 1 - 6.

Ability to plan and prepare a progressive and challenging gymnastics program based on a set curriculum

Thoroughly prepare participants for competitions and internal abilities assessments within a set time-frame

Provide feedback to participants and parents where appropriate

Deliver the gymnastics program in an age-appropriate and supportive manner whilst maintaining a high expectation for quality and correct gymnastics technique

Ability to motivate young athletes to achieve their goals and overcome obstacles
